Immense force is exerted during a 4x4 vehicle recovery on the recovery points, shackles and recovery rope or strap. Should a failure occur the bow shackle flies back at a tremendous velocity potentially causing damage to your vehicle and serious injury to drivers or bystanders.
This clip demonstrates the dangers through a simulated failed recovery. The bow shackle punched straight through the bonnet.
