Always physically check the recovery attachment points to prevent accidents, injury or failure! The factory fitted recovery point on the vehicle should always be attached to a rated SECURETECH Bow Shackle, available in 2.0 ton, 3.250 ton, 4.750 ton, 6.5 ton and 8.5 ton.
The innovative SECURETECH Emergency Soft Shackle is also an option should the vehicle not have a suitable recovery point. The soft shackle is for emergency use on vehicles that do not have rated recovery points. The soft shackle must be attached to a secure point on the vehicle, with caution being exercised.
The photo shows an unrated D Shackle. Commercial shackles are not rated and are therefore not suited for vehicle recovery. Rated D-shackles should also be avoided in vehicle recovery as the rating pertains to a straight line pull.
